The finals of the much-awaited World Test Championship 2019-2021, is finally starting from 18th June 2021 and the cricket enthusiast is enthusiastically waiting for this particular match, moreover, the two teams that have reached the finals and will clash against each other is Team India and Team New Zealand. This championship holds great significance for both the teams, as the one who will win this tournament will create history by winning the first-ever team to lift the World Test Championship trophy. On 6th March 2021, ICC announced that Team India has made their place at the WTC finals by defeating England in the home Test series by 3-1, while on 2nd February 2021, Team Austalia withdrawal from the test series against South Africa, due to the Wuhan virus pandemic, which eventually resulted in a place in the final for Team New Zealand. The WTC final will take place in the Rose Bowl, Southampton venue and is scheduled to take place from 18th to 22nd June 2021 at 3:30 PM (IST) each day.
Ajinkay Rahane of team India played 28 innings in the world test tournament and ranked no.3 in term of most runs of 1095. His average score in this test match is 43.80 points while the cricketer recorded 3 century and 115 half-centuries in the match. Whereas, Tim Southee from Team New Zealand has taken 51 wickets in the world test match, while Ravichandran Ashwin from Team India has recorded 67 wickets as of 8th April 2021.
Both the teams so far have played phenomenal in the WTC 2021 and in the recent test series, we saw the New Zealand team playing quite aggressive during their match against Team England. The cricketers of New Zealand chose the route of playing attacking and aggressive against the opponent teams in their last few test matches and it surely worked for them, as they won the previous two-test matches by 1-0 following a loss of two wickets in their second match.
