Mi 9 Pro 5G has been officially unveiled as Xiaomi’s second 5G smartphone on Tuesday. In addition to the 5G support, it builds upon the company’s Mi 9 smartphone and brings a host of new features and improvements. The Mi 9 Pro 5G is powered by Snapdragon 855+ SoC and comes with features like triple rear camera support, 40W fast charging, MIUI 11, and vapour chamber cooling support. Mi 9 Pro will go on sale in China first on September 27 and it is still not clear if it will come to India or not.
Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G Launched
The Mi 9 pro 5G is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus 64-bit octa-core processor paired with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage. The smartphone comes in four variants – 8GB + 128GB, 8GB RAM + 256GB storage, 12GB + 256GB and lastly it’s the 12GB RAM + 512GB. Overall the Mi 9 pro 5G is a slightly upgraded version of the standard Mi 9.
The Mi 9 pro 5G comes packed with a 6.39-inch fullHD+ AMOLED display. The smartphone packs a massive 4000mAh battery with 40W wired fast charging, and 30W wireless fast charging. The phone will only take 48 minutes to reach 100 percent battery charge on a wired 40W charger or 69 minutes to reach 100 percent on a wireless 30W charger. The smartphone also comes with support for reverse charging of up to 10W. On the software front, the smartphone runs MIUI 11 based on Android 9 Pie.

Xiaomi has also added vapour chamber (VC) cooling on the phone to make sure your phone’s CPU is cool, not matter the performance-intensive tasks being carried out.
Xiaomi said in a statement, “Mi 9 Pro 5G also sports the industry’s most efficient vapour chamber (VC), along with five layers of graphite sheet, high thermal conductivity copper foil and thermal adhesive, together forming a powerful three-dimensional cooling system. The L-shaped VC has a heat dissipation area up to 1,127mm2, which accommodates faster and more efficient heat transfer compared to graphite and copper tubes. As a result, the processor’s core temperature can be reduced by 10.2-degrees Celsius.”

In terms of the camera front, the smartphone comes with three cameras on the rear panel and single sensor on the front. On the back panel the Mi 9 5G includes a primary 48-megapixel image sensor, a secondary camera uses a 12-megapixel telephoto image sensor, and third is a 16-megapixel ultrawide lens. On the front, the Mi 9 5G includes a 20-megapixel selfie camera.
Among other specifications, you will get NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, and the Mi 9 Pro weighs 196 grams. The Mi 9 5G comes in two colours — Dream White and Titanium Black.
