Piku is an Indian comedy-drama film directed by Shoojit Sircar. Deepika Padukone is playing the titular protagonist role, who is Bengali architect living in New Delhi, and Amitabh Bachchan plays her ageing father. The film explores the dynamics of their relationship as they take a road trip to Kolkata. Piku is the story of a cranky old Bengali widower Bhaskor Banerji (Amitabh Bachchan) who subjugates his paternal instincts to the health, or the lack of it, of his alimentary canal.
Piku (Deepika Padukone) an architect by profession, is also a haggard daughter of an overbearing father Bhaskar Banerjee (Amitabh Bachchan) who has constipation issues which is more psychological than physical. Piku struggles to keep up with her domineering father who has a problem with everything in life. Rana Chaudhury (Irrfan Khan) runs a taxi service who takes Piku to her office.
