After Baaghi 2, Disha Patani to shoot for Rs 150-cr opus, Sanghamitra: The famous director Sundar C is all set to cast the Baaghi 2 actress Disha Patani for his next magnum opus drama Sanghamitra reportedly, the grapevine further suggest that the beautiful actress Disha Patani will be seen in the main lead role for this movie.
As per a report, published in the media house Mumbai Mirror, the movie Sanghamitra is all set to go on floor from this January and shooting of the movie will begin from this July.
The shooting of the movie pushed ahead because of Disha’s other work commitments. The movie will be said to be made at the cost of Rs 150 crore as per some of the reliable sources.
The report quoting a source said, “Shooting will take place in Hyderabad on sets very similar to Baahubali. It will be filmed on a grand scale and if everything goes according to plan, the first part will be unveiled next year.”
In 2017, January, Sundar C clarified in a press meet about why his dream project Sanghamitra is getting late to start, “It’s a film with mammoth scale. A film of that grandness needs perfect planning and we are doing the pre-preparation work for the last one and a half years. Unlike other films where work on graphics will be done only after shooting, here in Sanghamitra, we have started it before shooting.”
Not long ago, in an interview, Disha mentioned that she is keen to learn the sword-fighting classes so that she can portray the role of a warrior princess properly and can she get into the skin of the character.
Going the Baahubali way, the project is as per reports, going to complete in within the time span of the 18 months.
It will also feature Jayam Ravi and Arya in other important roles.
The movie Sanghamitra, as per plan, will be released in 3 trilingual, which includes, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi, was launched amidst fanfare in 2017 at the Cannes International Film Festival.
Though, even before the buzz could die down, Shruti Haasan, the leading lady, walked out of the project citing the reason that in this movie she is denied from getting the meaty role which she had promised.
Though, the producer Hema Rukmani clarified that Shruti didn’t walk out. They chose to not work in this movie because of some other reasons, or something doesn’t get materialized in this movie as per her opinion.
Shruti was eventually replaced by Disha and the project was supposed to go on the floors from December but now the film will commence in the coming days.
Following the delay in the commencement of the shoot, some rumors go round in the T-Town perhaps the venture has been shelved.
Although, things did turn around for the movie Sanghamitra.
To be bankrolled by Sri Thenandal Films, the movie will also feature the Oscar-winning AR Rahman, as a music composer for the magnum opus drama Sanghamitra, who is kicked to be part of this project. At Cannes, he had said, “It’s a very ambitious film. Six months back when I heard just 30 minutes of the narration, it was good enough for me to come on board.”
