Aishwarya Rai had given tribute to Jayalalitha in her 1997 Tamil debut movie :- The sudden passing of the “Amma” of Tamil Nadu has brought the sadness and tears in the eyes of the people of the country. The numbers of the people are murmuring the death of one of the finest political leader and the former Bollywood actress. Whole India along with big names from the political world and Bollywood industries is visiting the Apollo hospital in Chennai to see the demised Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
Well, we all know that Jayalalithaa was one of the most familiar faces in the South film industry between 60’s and 70’s. But only a few knows that the role was already played on the big screen in the year 1997. It was 1997 release Tamil movie which was Aishwarya Rai first movie in Tamil industry.
Aishwarya portrayed the double role in this movie as Mohanlal’s first wife, who dies in a freak accident and the other role was the an actress who then gets involved in Mohanlal’s political campaign. She second role was considered to be the Jayalalithaa who shared the romantic relationship with M. G. Ramachandran.
However, the makers of the movie refused that the second role that Aishwarya played was of the Jayalalithaa’s. But the viewers and the critics can easily figure out that the role was of the Jayalalithaa. However, the followers of both Jayalalithaa and M. G. Ramachandran asked the makers to not release this movie, and thus, the film failed to do business commercially.
Despite the controversy, the movie was considered to be one of the best movies of the Mani Ratnam”s career. We remember this movie as Jayalalithaa just passed away yesterday night around 11:30 Pm in Apollo Hospital of Chennai branch.
