64th National Film Award:  Akshay Kumar bags Best Actor Title for “Rustom”: The Winners of the 64th National Film Awards for the movies released in the year 2016 have been pronounced. Akshay Kumar won the best actor award for Rustom movie and Surabhi Lakshmi won the best actress award for Minnaminungu. The best Feature Film won by Marathi film Kaasav. Sonam Kapoor starrer Neerja movie begged the Best Hindi film award for the year 2016. Famous film executive, maker, and screenwriter Shri Priyadarshan is the Jury Chairperson in Feature Films Category.

He shared a video message and wrote, “#NationalFilmAwards: Best Actor for Rustom, countless emotions, very hard to express my gratitude right now but still tried, a big THANK YOU.”

 

Rustom film, in light of the 1959 instance of a maritime officer K. M. Nanavati and the murder of his better half’s lover, investigates the subject of disloyalty and an extramarital affair.

He devoted this honour to the gifts of his folks and his adoring family, particularly to his wife Twinkle Khanna. He further says that Twinkle began asking him to not go and attend award show pears, as he was never recognised with any awards.

Movie producer Priyadarshan was the executive of the jury in highlight movies classification, while broadly acclaimed cinematographer and an essayist Raju Misra was the director in non-include classification. The jury considered 344 movies from 26 dialects for the component movies class of honours.
