The principal photography of Bharat was started in June 2018 and the last shooting schedule was completed on 7th January 2019. The official announcement was made by the director of the film Ali Abbas Zafar who tweeted on his social media account on 7th January 2019.

Earlier, Priyanka Chopra was casted on the leading ladies role but due to her engagement with Nick Jonas, she quit the role, which was then handed over to Katrina Kaif. The movie is going to make its worldwide theatrical release on 5th June 2019, which also marks Eid on that day.
