Cannes day 8: Sonam Kapoor, Mahira Khan add charm to the festival: The 71st edition of Cannes Film Festival sees the Bollywood fashion diva Sonam Kapoor who dazzle in the event and the Pakistani actor Mahira Khan, who spread her charm and grace on the eighth day of this lavish carnival.
Sonam, who recently tied the knot with long-time boyfriend Anand Ahuja, made her second red carpet appearance in a Vera Wang nude gown on Tuesday. As Sonam walked along, the long train of her dress – in beige and yellow – followed gracefully. She matched the off-shoulder gown with a gold eyeshadow and Chopard jewels.
On the previous time, in the day, Sonam Kapoor has been seen beautiful in the white shirt and blue denim. She was also seen dressed in crisp white and red post her much-touted wedding with her long time, boyfriend, Anand Ahuja.
On the last Monday, Mahira Khan walked the red carpet, continued to enjoy her time in French Riviera, shared a number of pictures. She wore her ‘favourite’ Nicolas Jebran dress at the night shoot on the Croisette.
Bollywood stars Aishwarya Ri Bachchan, Kangana Ranaut and Huma Qureshi are the other stars who walked on the red carpet of the Cannes over the past few days. While Aishwarya represented Loreal at the film festival, Kangana and Huma were in attendance and the duo arrived on the behalf of a liquor brand.
Actors Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Manoj Bajpayee, Divya Dutta, Rasika Duggal and filmmaker Nandita Das are also attending the carnival. Nawazuddin, Rasika, and Nandita attended the world premiere of their movie Manto, which is competing in the UnCertain Regard section, and also launched the first trailer of the film based on rebel writer Sadat Hasan Manto.
Manoj, on the other hand, revealed the first look of his next film, Bhonsle. The story unfolds during Maharashtra’s most significant festival, Ganpathi Puja – in a span of 10 days. “There is festivity all around, people are in a joyous mood, but Ganpath Bhonsle pushed into retirement, is angry and unhappy. He does not want to hang up his uniform and go back to his lonely life in a slum that is his home. But into this dreariness walks a young girl (Ipsita Charavarthy). Bhosle is all about this undefined, unlikely relationship between the two”, Bajpayee told to the leading media house HT.
