Netflix India original Delhi Crime Movie Review and Ratings Audience Twitter Reaction: Netflix India original series is now up with Crime-Drama series “Delhi Crime” that is based on the true event of the investigation of 2012 Nirbhaya gangrape, which is considered to be one of the most brutal sexual attack ever in public memory.

Director of the series Richie Mehta was at first unwilling to work on the series and assumed it was unsuitable for anybody to create the series, but then decided to go for it after reading the judgment and meeting the enquiry officers who was involved in the case.

The Indian-Canadian director told in an interview, “Initially I was against the idea. I thought it was inappropriate for anyone to do it”.

He further added, “But after I read the verdict and met some of the officers involved, I was amazed. The verdict detailed the manhunt and who these people were and how they were found.”

He also said, “I realised that this analysis of hunting these guys is also a way of understanding why these things happen”.

Delhi Crime Storyline Review

The story of Delhi Crime captures the investigation of the horrific rape case which made the huge headlines internationally when Nirbhaya, a 23-year-old physiotherapy student was brutally raped and beaten by five men and a teenager in a moving bus on 16 December 2012 in New Delhi. The story is showcased in the viewpoint of Vartika Chaturvedi (Shefali Shah), a police officer who takes on the case like it is her own.

Delhi Crime is basically a seven episode anthology series which is of about one hour each. The series, filmed in English and Hindi was premiered at the Sundance Film Festival this year and got an excellent reviews from all over.

The story itself is very hard to believe as well as to imagine but the work done by each cast and the director of the series made the story a great success. All the cast members have justified their characters and roles. The story is well presented as well as well-researched. This thoroughly made series will help the viewers to make them see the police in a new light.
