Colonel Raj Kumar Kapoor Director of Shah Rukh Khan’s Fauji passes away at 87: The director, who introduced the Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan in the industry with the television show Fauji, Colonel Raj Kumar Kapoor passed away at the age of 87 on April 10, 2019. He was hospitalized due to some age-related issue as confirmed by Ritambhara, one of his three daughters. She also said “My father died at 10.10 p.m. yesterday. He was in a hospital for some time, but his death was very sudden. He was otherwise in good health… He went quite peacefully”.
This news was also confirmed from one of the Facebook posts from Kapoor’s account but written by a family member which read: “This is to inform you that our beloved dad, Raj Kumar Kapoor, has left his earthly body to go on a brand new adventure.”
The last riots of Col. Raj Kumar Kapoor were accomplished on Thursday.
After his retirement from the Indian Army, he went to Mumbai to work in films. He has acted in full-length and ad films and has also produced several television shows. He has also published a novel named “When Shiva Smiles”, a few years ago.
Raj Kapoor had also written an essay in Samar Khan’s book titled ‘SRK – 25 Years of a Life’. In the essay, he had shared his thoughts of not being known for the wars that he had fought, but being known as the man who made SRK. He wrote, “I’ve been an actor, I’ve fought three wars, but all that anybody seems to remember is that I launched Shah Rukh 20 years ago. It amuses me to think that I’m given credit for something I played no part in. Shah Rukh’s parents made him, I didn’t. I didn’t make a superstar; I simply chose the right man for a job I had. What happened before or after that in his life has nothing to do with me”.
