Vicky Kaushal gets 13 stitches and fractures cheekbone, on horror film set: After the super success of Uri: The Surgical Strike, Vicky Kaushal has returned to work with Bhanu Pratap Singh’s untitled horror film, which revolves around a ship that lies static on a beach. The actor would have barely known that while shooting the film, he would also witness real horror. But on Thursday (April 18), things took an ugly turn when Vicky Kaushal injured himself on the film set. He fractured his cheekbone while shooting for an action sequence.
The crew of the film was shooting in Alang (a real set that is world’s biggest ship-breaking yard), Gujarat since the past five days. Vicky was shooting for an action sequence in the ship where he has to run and open a door.
According to a report in a leading daily, Vicky got 13 stitches after a door fell on him.
A source told the daily, “Unfortunately, the door fell on him and he was badly hurt. He was rushed to a local hospital by the crew and flown to Mumbai on Friday morning,”
A large portion of the movie was previously shot in Mumbai. It was a month-long schedule in January then. Produced by Karan Johar, the film also stars Bhumi Pednekar in the lead role. Co-incidentally Vicky and Bhumi have already been announced as the starcast for Karan Johar’s next directorial ‘Takht’. Meanwhile, director Bhanu too has previously been an assistant to Shashank Khaitan.
Vicky Kaushal made his Bollywood debut with the 2015 film Masaan. But it took him three years to make his mark in Bollywood. After the success of Raazi, Sanju, and Manmarziyan, people took notice of this new boy in town. However, it was Aditya Dhar’s Uri: The Surgical Strike that made Vicky Kaushal a household name. The film turned out to be the first hit of 2019. However, Vicky Kaushal is still remembered as the Major from ‘Uri’. Talking about the film’s success, Vicky had previously told the same daily, “Just before the film was to release, Aditya [Dhar, director] and I were discussing how the entire team has given their all – physically, mentally and emotionally – to the project. Though we were content with our efforts, we didn’t expect the audience to go bonkers.”
