The makers have announced the release date of the movie as the film will release on July 30, 2021, which is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The movie was written by Hussain Zaidi. It was rumoured that the title of the book was Mafia Queen in 2011.
Gangubai was one of the most powerful women of Mumbai and many pictures of her were hanging on the walls of Mumbai. As per the details, Gangubai used to take care of her girls who were working under her and stayed her self as prostitution. She never kept any girl without their consent.

She was born in Kathiawad, Gujarat and her real name was Ganga Harjivandas. According to the sources, when she was a child, she wanted to become an actress. She was in love with a man named Ramnik Lal and he was her collegemate and also, used to work as her father’s accountant. After some time, she was rushed with her boyfriend to Mumbai. Gangubai’s dream of becoming an actress never fulfilled. She forcibly sold in the prostitution market by her boyfriend.
With time, Gangubai faced many problems in her life and then, became a well-known name in Mumbai and owned various brothels. She connected with the underworld and made a strong connection. They all were her clients as she was holding over an area of South Mumbai. It was rumoured that she was only a brothel owner in Mumbai who had a black Bentley car at that time.
Along with this, Gangubai was a soft-hearted woman and soft space for the girls who have forced to be prostitution. She took care of her girls who worked for her and never forced anyone to be a sex worker. An incident was also found that Gangubai fought with a gangster in Mumbai after hearing that he raped a girl.
