Former BCCI Treasurer Chirayu Amin’s son Pranav Elected as Baroda Cricket Association President

Pranav Amin has been elected as president of the Baroda Cricket Association on Friday. Pranav Amin is the son of industrialist and former BCCI treasurer Chirayu Amin. Also, Ajit Lele who is the son of Jayvant Lele, former secretary of the BCCI, has also been elected as secretary of the association.

‘Revival Group’ headed by Amin bagged three posts as two other candidates belonging to his group has been elected as vice president and treasurer.

Meanwhile, the posts of secretary and joint secretary of the cricket association have been won by the Royal Group headed by Samarjeetsih Gaekwad of the erstwhile royal family of Baroda.

The final newly-elected office-bearers are Pranav Amin (president), Sheetal Mehta (vice president), Ajit Lele (secretary), Parag Patel (joint secretary), and Ajit Patel (treasurer).

While Mehta and Ajit Patel belonged to the Revival Group headed by Amin, Lele and Parag Patel belonged to the Royal Group.

Sanjay Behera, the son of the former Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) secretary Ashirbad Behera, has been elected as the secretary of the cricketing body on Friday.

Reportedly, Sanjay defeated his rival Naba Ranjan Patnaik to adorn the OCA secretary post.

Meanwhile, Pankaj Lochan Mohanty has been elected as President, Mehtab Khan as joint secretary, Akshaya Kumar Samant as Vice President and Bikash Pradhan as treasurer.

It is to be noted that ahead of the crucial OCA elections, Ashirbad Behera has been arrested for his alleged links in Artha Tatwa (AT) Group chit fund scam.

After his victory in the OCA election, Sanjay Behera said, “Members, those who have voted for me, have given a befitting reply to those who conspired against my father and put him behind the jail. My victory is a tight slap on the faces of the conspirators. I will work for the development of cricket in the State.”

Sanjay also stated that he has a blueprint and vision for the development of cricket in the state while nurturing of budding cricketing talents will be major focus.
