Samsung Galaxy S20, Galaxy Z Flip Pre-Registration open in India

The South Korean smartphone company Samsung has launched its new flagship phones globally on Wednesday. The company launched its new Galaxy S20 lineup which includes Galaxy S20, S20 Plus and S20 Ultra at the Galaxy Unpacked 2020 in San Francisco, California. Alongside these three smartphones, the company also unveiled Galaxy Z Flip which is a foldable smartphone. At the launch, the company had announced the pricing and availability for the flagships in the US, however, no information on the device’s availability in India was announced.

But now, the Samsung Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, Galaxy S20 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip are now up for pre-registration in India. Consumers interested in the latest Samsung flagship phones can head over to the company’s official Indian website to pre-register. You can register by providing your name, email address, mobile number, and a few other details. The Galaxy S20 series will be available starting March 6th in the US, so you can expect its release in India to be around that time as well.

In terms of the specs, the Galaxy S20 phones come in three different sizes, the basic S20 comes with a 6.2-inch Quad HD+ Dynamic AMOLED Infinity-O Display. The S20+ gets a 6.7-inch Quad HD+ Dynamic AMOLED Infinity-O Display. All three phones share the chipset, with the US variant getting a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC, while the phone getting an Exynos 990 in markets outside the country.

5G variant of the S20 and S20+ will sport 12GB of RAM. However, 4G LTE variants of the devices will get 8GB of RAM. The S20 Ultra will get 16GB of RAM on its top-end variant, while the entry ones will get 12GB of RAM.

Both the Galaxy S20 and the Galaxy S20+ support hybrid optical zoom of up to 3X and total zoom of 30X. The two phones also share the main cameras in the setup, which include a 12-megapixel ultra-wide, a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens and a 64-megapixel telephoto lens. However, on the S20+ there’s also a ToF camera.

The S20 Ultra on the other hand also gets a quad-camera set-up, but with completely different lenses. The first lens is an ultra-wide 12-megapixel lens sat next to the primary 108-megapixel wide-angle lens. For 100x Space Zoom there’s a 48-megapixel lens. Completing the set-up is a ToF lens.

On the other hand, the Galaxy Z Flip is Samsung’s second foldable phone after the Galaxy Fold. It brings a new clamshell design that lets you unfold the phone vertically rather than horizontally. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip sports a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Infinity-O display, a small 1.06-inch secondary colour display for notifications on the cover, a dual camera setup next to the secondary display that includes a 12MP primary sensor and an ultra-wide-angle lens. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip is powered by a Snapdragon 855+ SoC paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB storage onboard and houses a 3,300mAh battery with support for 15W fast charging.

To recall earlier this week Samsung launched Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra. The Galaxy S20 comes with a price tag of $999 that translates to Rs 71,126 whereas Galaxy S20+ can be purchased at $1,199 that translates to Rs 99,800. The Galaxy S20 Ultra carries a price tag of $1,399 that translates to Rs 99,800 while the Galaxy Z Flip has been launched by the company Samsung at $1,380 that translates to Rs 98,400.
