Telangana Inter Result 2019: 3 lakh students failed, many cases of suicides, High Court orders revaluation of answer sheets

The Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) has recently announced the results of 1st and 2nd year Intermediate Exams 2019. The result has been uploaded on the official website of TSBIE at bie.telangana.gov.in. All the candidates who have appeared for the examination can check or download their result from the official website.

According to the board, about three lakh students have failed to qualify the intermediate exams in the year 2019. On April 23, the Telangana high court has ordered the Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) to start with the procedure of revaluation of answer sheets of the whole unqualified candidates.

There were total numbers of 9 lakh students who had attended the intermediate exams which was conducted in February-March. But the surprising part is this that there were a lot of bright students who did well in the first year but failed in the second year, as per the reports. Even a lot of of the students were awarded zero, one or two marks which have headed to quite a few suicides cases in the state.

The petition filed by an NGO:

By seeing this concern, the petition has been filed by an NGO. According to the report, the court, while hearing the appeal which was filed by an NGO, gave time to the TSBIE board till April 29 (Monday) to reveal how much time it would take for accomplish the revaluation.

The NGO has also tried to find a full investigation into the gaps and recompense to the families of the students who finished their lives.

The president of Telangana Government Junior College Lecturers Association, Madhusudhan Reddy said in an interview, “At least eight students allegedly committed suicide while several others attempted to end their lives after they failed to clear the exam. Eleven students who scored over 900 (out of total 1,000), 125 with scores between 850 and 900 and about 2,000 who scored over 750 were declared failed in one subject which varied among students.”

Supplementary Exams

In the meantime, while talking about the supplementary exams, Telangana State Board of Intermediate Education (TSBIE) has announced the date sheet or exam time table for the supplementary exams. The date sheet has been released on the official website at bie.telangana.gov.in.

The supplementary exams are only for those students who were not able to qualify a subject or two in the TS inter examination. The supplementary exams is going to be held in May 2019.

The exams are going to commence from May 16, 2019 for both first and second-year intermediate students and it is going to accomplish on May 27, 2019. The practical exams are going to be held from May 28 and will end on May 31, 2019.

The ethics and humans value exam are going to be held on June 1, 2019 in the morning shift from 10 am to 1 pm and also the environmental education exam is going to be held on June 3, 2019 from 10 am and will carry on till 1 pm.
