The Indian automobile marker is eagerly waiting for the launch of Volkswagen Tiguan in Indian in upcoming India since it was showcased at the Auto Expo show in the year 2016. However, the SUV has been seen near Pune Sans camouflage, where it was testing its compatibility to the India roads. The reports reveal that the Volkswagen Tiguan is 50 Kilograms lighter than its previous edition.
The new Volkswagen SUV supports a 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine motor and is measured 30 mm wider, 33 mm lower and 60 mm longer. The company has decided to increase the wheel size for the upcoming SUV Tiguan from 77 mm to 2681 mm to enhance the space inside the car.
The engine of this vehicle will be equipped with the capability to churn out a maximum of 147 bhp and 340 Nm of torque. It will come with the 1968cc motor and turbocharger with the company’s 7-speed DSG automatic unit. Apart from this, the Volkswagen Tiguan will be loaded with the 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine turbocharged unit. However, the petrol engine will come with numbers of the option including 123 bhp, 147 bhp, 177 bhp, and 217 bhp. The engine will be provided with the option of a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG gearbox.
The looks of the SUV is similar to the kind of its Internation Tiguan model as it comes with the LED daytime Headlamps running light, along with side and horizontal LED fog lamps. The company will also provide the 5-inch or a bigger 8-inch infotainment display loaded with navigation.
The Volkswagen Tiguan is expected to launch in 2017, and it will be price between Rs 20 lakhs to Rs 30 lakhs. The automobile experts believe that it will be in competition with the Toyota’s Fortuner and Ford’s Endeavour.
