We all are aware of the fact that right now, India and many other countries are witnessing the second wave of the Wuhan Virus Pandemic and due to this there has been a drastic increase in the cases of the aforesaid pandemic. Every industry around the globe is suffering because of this including the entertainment industry. Many pictures that were scheduled to be released at the starting of this month are now further postponed and in this list now, three more pictures of Hollywood are added. Keeping in mind the safety of the people, the makers of these movies have decided to extend the release date further.
The first movie on this list is “Mortal Kombat”. It is an action-packed fantasy Hollywood movie and is inspired by the popular video game of the same name. The movie is directed under the direction of Simon McQuoid and is produced under the production banner of Broken Road Production, Newline cinema, and Atomic Monster, while Warner Bros. Pictures is the distributing partner of this movie.
This picture was scheduled to be released in India in multiple languages including English, Hindi, Telugu and Tamil on 16th April 2021, but is now extended to 23rd April 2021. The second Hollywood movie whose release date is now shifted further is “The Croods: A New Age”. This movie is an American Animated moive. The genre of the movie Is Thrilling Adventure-comedy. Joel Crawford has directed this movie, while it is produced by Mark Swift under the banner of DreamWorks Animation.
The third movie on this list is “Nobody”. The movie, nobody, is an action-thrilled American movie. This movie is directed by Ilya Naishuller and is produced under the production banner of Perfect World Pictures, 87 North Production along with other production houses. Both the movies, “Nobody” and “The Croods: A New Age”, have given the right of the distribution to Universal Pictures and the two films were supposed to be scheduled to release in India on 9th April 2021.
However, since the cases of the pandemic are rising in India, thus, taking into consideration the safety of everyone, the distribution company has officially announced that the release of the two films has been postponed until further notice. This has not been the cases with only these movies, but in fact, the release of the most awaited Bollywood movie, ‘Sooryavanshi’ has been postponed endlessly. With the increasing number of cases, there is a high probability the makers might opt for the OTT platforms as many states in India have implemented night curfew, while in some states, theatres are still closed.
