2 killed and 43 injured as Ajmer-Sealdah express derail in UP :- The morning witnessed another train accident within the period of two months in the UP as around 6 Am as the 15 coaches of the Ajmer-Sealdah Express derailed. The incident took place at the near Rural Railway Station in Kanpur Rural district, and it killed two people and injured 43 people.In a recent interaction with the media wing, the Amit Malviya, North Central Railways PRO said ” the incident took place Rura Railway Station, 70 km from here as the train get derailed when it was crossing the bridge over a dry canal in the area.

According to the reports, 13 sleeper coaches and two coaches get derailed and caused the death of 2 people, and 43 are injured. The rescue operation is underway, and it is believed that all the passengers have been rescued from the derailed coaches and 33 have been admitted to the district hospital, and the rest ten injured people are taken to the Hallet Hospital in Kanpur.

Buses have been arranged to drop the people to their final destination. Suresh Prabhu, the Railway Minister, informed that he is personally observing the whole situation and he is making sure that all the passengers reached their destination and said that the exgratia would be paid to the injured passengers to cost them less inconvenience.

Meanwhile, the Delhi-Howrah route via Kanpur has been closed, and the Shatabdi Express from Delhi to Kanpur has also been canceled. The Railway Department has issued the helpline numbers for Kanpur — 0512-2323015, 2323016, 2323018 and for Allahabad — 0532-2408149, 2408128 to accommodate the people in case if they need some query.
