2013 Hyderabad Twin Blast Case: Yasin Bhatkal, 4 others sentenced to death :- On Monday, a special NIA court sentenced Indian Mujahideen(IM) co-founder Yasin Bhatkal, Pakistani national Zia-ur-Rahman and 3 other IM operatives to death in 2013 Hyderabad blasts case.

In Hyderabad blast, 18 people had died and 130 others people were injured in twin blasts in the month of February 2013 at a packed shopping area in Dilsukh Nagar, Hyderabad.

Bhatkal was arrested in Bihar at the border with Nepal in the month of August 2013. For the first time top IM leaders have been found guilty of a terror attack since the group was banned as a terror group in 2010.
Chief of NIA – Sharad Kumar told that it is the first time that IM cadres have been convicted and sentenced to death. IM cadres had plans to strike all over India.

The agency in its charge sheet said that the Indian Mujahideen conspired to wage a war against India.
