Former Madhya Pradesh CM Suderlal Patwa: passed away due to cardiac arrest :- On Wednesday, former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh and a Veteran BJP leader – Sunderlal Patwa passed away in Bhopal after a brief illness. He was 92.
The wife of Patwa had died already a few years back and they had no children. In the present, his nephew – Surendra Patwa is Minister for Culture and Tourism in BJP-led state government.
In the morning, Patwa got a cardiac arrest and was rushed to hospital where he breathed his last.
Chief Minister of MP – Shiv Raj Chouhan condoled the death of the senior BJP leader. He recalled the life long contribution of Patwa for the development of Madhya Pradesh and said his death is an irreparable loss to the state.
About Sunderlal Patwa:
He was born on 11th November, 1924. Patwa served as Madhya Pradesh chief minister twice, first time in 1980 and later, riding on the Ram Mandir wave, he came back to power in March 1990.
His second stint on the seat of power was curtailed by imposition of the President’s rule in 1992 after the demolition of the Babri Masjid.
Patwa won the Hoshangabad Lok Sabha seat in 1999 general election and became a Cabinet-raked minister in the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s government at the Centre.
