Oppn took over the TRS on farmer suicides and also accused of neglecting farm sector :- On Wednesday, the Opposition took over the TRS government in the Legislative Assembly and accused that the government is neglecting the farm sector in the state during its 30-month rule.
Opposition leaders alleged on the TRS Government that farmers in the state were in distress state and as per the report of NBCR, the state has achieved the dubious distinction of witnessing the second most farmer suicides in the country. The opposition leaders also lashed out at the TRS government for failing to implement crop loan waiver scheme completely in the state.
N. Uttam Kumar Reddy who is a Congress MLA, said that the government failed to keep its promise on a one-time settlement of crop loan waiver scheme after the central government increased FRBM limit to 3.50 per cent to borrow more loans.
G. Kishan Reddy who is the BJP MLA, said that the government has failed to disburse the subsidy to farmers even after the Centre released it last year.
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said that we will pay in four installments and have already paid three. The last one installment would be paid next year. Impact of demonetisation will be known in January and we fear TS revenues will come down. It is not possible to pay Rs 4,250 crore (last instalment) in one installment under these conditions.
On Wednesday, home minister of the state – Nayani Narasimha Reddy told the assembly that state have to make highways cattle-safe. The TRS government plans to set up separate traffic signals or sign boards on highways for cattle to cross the higways. This will prevent accidents on highways on account of cattle.
BJP leader G.Kishan Reddy demanded the government to immediately shut down the wine shops and bars located along the highways as directed by the Supreme Court.
The minister, referring to the death of the baby Ramya in city due to drunken driving, said that we have booked criminal cases against the offenders. We have also increased police checks to curb drunken driving.
On Wednesday, the TS government informed the Legislative Assembly that higher dependence on other states has been leading to huge fluctuations in prices in the state.
