Chennai: Director Mahendran Dies At 79, Tamil Film Industry Pays Tribute: You all might already know that the famous filmmaker Mahendran died at the age of 79. Reports are coming that the famous director passed away at a private hospital in Chennai on April 2. As you all might already know that the Tamil filmmaker Mahendran has made his debut with Rajinikanth’s Mullum Malarum in 1978. Overall, he was one of the finest Tamil filmmakers and his death is a shock for him.

Some of you might have heard that a couple of days ago Mahendran was rushed to the private hospital. As per the reports, doctors declared that he was in a critical condition following a dialysis session. Afterward, he died today in the private hospital. Mahendran’s mortal remains will be kept for public homage at his residence in Chennai from 10 AM today.


Sources are saying that his last rites will be performed today evening at 5 PM. People are coming out to see him for the last time and to show their condolences. Also, he has left behind a very sweet family including wife Jasmine, son John, and two daughters Dimple and Anurita. It is still very shocking news but we have to cope with it. You all should know that the lat director Mahendran has done amazing work on Superstar Rajinikanth’s career.

Even in an interview, he said that nowadays directors don’t know how good character artiste Rajinikanth is. He added, “Only I know how easily he pulled off his role Kaali in Mullum Malarum. Easy a panniduvaru (He will pull it off easily). He is an excellent character artiste.” Mahendran has done great work in many movies such as Uthiripookkal, Nenjathai Killadhe, Johnny and Kaali as well. The whole industry is showing their respect for this late director.
