The company is, though; preserves the 1.5-litre diesel engine which powers the current model. The oil burner can churn out 99 BHP @ 3,750 rpm and 205 Nm of torque @ 1,750-3,250 rpm that will be coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission.

The petrol engine is said to return the fuel efficiency of 17kmpl while the diesel engine returns 23kmpl. Coming to the price point, the base variant of the new EcoSport is expected to commence from INR 7.3 lakh (ex-showroom) while the top-end model is likely to get a price tag of INR 11.5 lakh (ex-showroom). This is the EcoSport SUV of 2017 will compete in the lucrative sub-4m segment with Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon, Mahindra TUV300.
