Latest News: BSF jawan commits suicide in Kashmir :- A trooper of Border Security Force on Sunday committed suicide at an outpost on the LoC in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.

According to reports, police identified him as Constable Pramod Kumar.

The BSF trooper tried to kill himself at the Khara One post and was shifted to a hospital where he was declared dead.

The LoC divides Jammu and Kashmir between India and Pakistan.

Earlier this month, another soldier named Havildar Kishan Singh Rathore of the Indian Army had committed suicide by shooting himself with his weapon in the town of Samba on the Jammu national highway.

Suicides have been a serious concern across security forces.

According to the report, in the Army, by far the largest of the three services, 116 soldiers committed suicide in 2k10, 105 in 2k11 and 95 in 2k12.

In 2k14, the National Crime Records Bureau reported 175 deaths, through accident and suicides.

General Bipin Rawat had warned soldiers not to tell the social media to address complaints and instead advised soldiers to use the grievance redressal system under which complaints would reach him while the identity of the complainant would be kept a secret.
