Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was Indian nationalist as well as Indian freedom fighters whose rebellious nationalism made him a hero in India. He is one of the cause for freedom of India against British. He is popularly known as Netaji. On his birth anniversary, that is on January 23, Subhas Chandra Bose Jayanti or Netaji Jayanti is celebrated every year.

From the year, 1938 to 1939, he was the President of Indian National Congress (INC). With the help of Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan during World War II, Netaji make an effort to get rid of British rule in India. As a result, Netaji’s effort becomes successful. He was also acknowledged as the person who created the Azad Hind Army or Indian National Army with the assistance of Japan in 1942.

Subhash Chandra Bose was born on 23 January 1897 in Cuttack in the rich Hindu Kayastha family. He belongs to an advocate family, his father was Janakinath Bose and mother Prabhabati Devi. Among the 14 children of his parents, Subhash Chandra Bose was the 9th one.

He completed his early schooling from Cuttack and on the other hand in in 1918, he completed his matriculation degree from Calcutta and B.A. degree from University of Calcutta.

In order to follow his higher studies, he went to England in 1919. He was highly influenced by a Bengali political leader named Chittaranjan Das and shortly joined the freedom struggle of India to fight against the British rule. Subhas Chandra Bose was a great freedom fighter and national patriot.

He started conveying his opinions in front of the people of India through a newspaper named Swaraj. He conflicted the British rule in India and got fascinated towards the Indian politics. Because of his active contribution, he was nominated as All India Youth Congress President and Bengal State Congress Secretary.

Subhash Chandra Bose, died on 18 August 1945 at the age of 48 in Taihoku, Japanese Taiwan, which is presently in Taipei. The cause of his death was a plane crash which many Indians believed that he didn’t expire at that time. However, the Government of West Bengal submitted many incorrect fragments of proof that he was not alive after the plane crash.
